Stonepine Equestrian is a full-service boarding and riding center. Our two barnsβone in the heart of our training ground, the other within earshot of the babbling Carmel Riverβare comfortable, caring homes for horses, and we offer facilities for dressage, show jumping, western pleasure, and racing. With miles of wooded trails to explore, youβll be able to bond with your horse in the place where theyβre at their most comfortable.
A home for horses for nearly a century
Horses have been trained and cared for at Stonepine for over 90 years. Stonepineβs original owner, Henry Potter Russell, was a founder and the first president of the California Thoroughbred Breeders Association, and raising thoroughbreds was his passion.
The site has hosted Kentucky Derby winner Majestic Prince, Countess Nashville, and Bolero Lady, and has played host to international polo challenges and film shoots.
Our trails wander through acres of forests and along a gentle turn in the Carmel River, offering peace, quiet, and space to unwind.
The 40+ horses who currently live on site enjoy comfortable barns and dedicated service.
Enjoy miles and miles of private groomed trails.
Our paddocks feature large oaks and structural coverings to provide shade for the horses on hot days.
Youβll have all you need to train in dressage, show jumping, and western pleasure.
Alongside the Carmel River and the River Barn, our four-furlong practice track gives you the chance to see what your horse can do in the open.
